University of California-Davis Segundo Infill Housing
Davis, California
With Mogavero Notestine Architects, Ken Kay Associates planned and designed three dorms for 400 students to replace unsightly parking lots on the campus edge. The design brought the fabric of the campus into the site, with the interior side of the residences arranged in half circles embracing plazas, tree-shaded seating areas, and gardens. Interior courtyards, lawns, gardens, and walking paths connect housing to dining halls and the campus interior. The result is a new campus gateway with a high-quality architectural image. |
