Ken Kay Associates is the master planner on a consultant team for a dynamic new community that will be developed at the NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) Research Park in Silicon Valley. The former Moffett Naval Air Station, owned by the NASA Ames Research Center, will be transformed into a next-generation research community through a collaborative led by the University of California, Santa Cruz, and including Carnegie Mellon University, Santa Clara University, and Foothill/DeAnza Community College.
NASA Research Park will combine academic institutions, private technology companies, and housing to advance the goal of science and technology that serve the region’s people and economy. This new community, surrounded by the world’s highest concentration of high-tech companies, will foster collaborative research with NASA Ames to further NASA’s mission. It also will embody leading-edge environmental sustainability practices in energy generation, conservation, and waste management. |
