Hitachi Transit Village
San Jose, California
Ken Kay Associates’ master plan for the Hitachi Transit Village converts 148 acres of the Hitachi Global Technologies site in San Jose, a former single-use IBM business park, into a compact transit-oriented community. Approved by the city, the master plan for a new mixed-use village includes 3,000 homes in two distinctive walkable neighborhoods near a CalTrain and a local light-rail station. The plan integrates neighborhood retail with next-generation workplaces and three large parks designed by the firm.
Ken Kay Associates has been responsible for leading a consultant team and securing all city approvals. It also helped select a developer for the transit village, now under construction by a major Bay Area mixed-use developer. |
