Sonoma Mission Inn
Sonoma, California
Located in a region of vineyards and warm springs, the landscape of the historic Sonoma Mission Inn had been lost behind parking lots and roads. Ken Kay Associates’ master plan and landscape design guided the $15 million renovation, restoring elegance and tranquility while helping to increase occupancy to 92 percent.
Fragrant Mediterranean-style gardens have replaced parking lots that were consolidated into a new garage. Terraces, water gardens, and fountains envelop the original pool, renovated with sculpture and Indonesian stone. The architects for the buildings are Hornberger + Worstell of San Francisco. |
